Removing Components

If you added a component by mistake, or you don’t want to track one anymore, you can remove it. Removing a component also deletes its recorded hours, so read the notes below before you delete.

You need the Officer or Manager role to remove components.

  1. Open the aircraft and find the Overview card.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Remove Component. A red circle icon appears on each component tile.
  4. Tap the red circle icon on the component you want to remove.
  5. Type the component name to confirm, then tap Delete.

Tap Cancel at any time to leave remove mode without deleting anything.

If an alert depends on the component, BetterPlane blocks the removal. A dialog names the alerts using it. Update or remove those alerts first, then try again.

When you remove a component, you lose its recorded total time too. Contact support if you removed a component by mistake.

If other components use it as a time source (for example, an Engine linked to a Tach), remove or relink those components first. BetterPlane blocks removal when an alert depends on the component. It does not warn you if another component still uses it as a time source. Check for that yourself before you delete.
