Adding an Aircraft
Your first aircraft goes through onboarding when you create your account. This page covers adding the next one, to the same hangar or a new one.
Add an aircraft
Section titled “Add an aircraft”- Open the hangar screen.
- Tap the menu icon in the bottom-right corner, then tap Add Aircraft.
- Work through the wizard. The steps are the same as Getting Started.
- On the hangar step, tap Use Existing, then tap the hangar you want. Or tap Create New to start a new hangar.
Each hangar in the Use Existing list shows one badge: Eligible, At capacity, or No plan. Eligible means the hangar’s plan has room for another aircraft, and tapping it selects it directly. The other two badges need a step first, covered below.
Add an aircraft to a hangar at its limit
Section titled “Add an aircraft to a hangar at its limit”- On the hangar step, tap Use Existing.
- Tap a hangar marked At capacity or No plan.
- In the sheet that opens, tap Upgrade if it is present.
- Complete the upgrade in the screen that opens, then tap Close to return to the hangar list.
At capacity means the hangar’s plan has an aircraft limit and has reached it. The sheet shows the hangar’s capacity and, if the plan sets a limit, a progress bar toward it. The Upgrade button opens the same subscription management screen as Manage or cancel billing.
A hangar marked No plan has no active subscription and nothing to upgrade, so the sheet has no Upgrade button. Tap Close, then subscribe that hangar first. See Subscribe a hangar.
Add an aircraft when you already have a subscription
Section titled “Add an aircraft when you already have a subscription”If you already hold an active subscription and add another aircraft under a new hangar, BetterPlane directs you to upgrade instead of starting a second subscription.
- On the hangar step, tap Create New.
- Complete the wizard and tap Choose Plan on the review step.
- If a Subscription Active dialog opens, tap Manage Subscription.
- Complete the upgrade in the screen that opens.
The dialog reads: “You already have an active subscription. To add more aircraft, you can upgrade your plan.” It opens whenever you already have an active subscription, even if it covers a different hangar. Tapping Cancel closes the dialog and returns you to the review step.
